It’s Independence Day tomorrow. Independence. What does that mean? In 1776 it meant fighting hard for the freedom to make our own laws and the freedom from a distant land placing taxes and restrictions on us. Telling us what to do. Steering our lives…..
I walked about thirteen blocks enjoying the cottony mist on my face and thinking about how being outside, doing the walk, I could see so much more than I could from the warm safe comforts of home. It was in the doing, stepping out into it, that I was able to see my way forward.
And what I have is not bad. In fact it’s wonderful, in most ways. So this isn’t about feeling unfulfilled, this is about a MISSION. Creating a succinct vision of what you want to make of your life what you want it to feel like from the inside.
I haven’t used that saying in quite a while now. Life is full of compromises as we get older and take on commitments and responsibilities, but the truth is: You are still the driver of your bus.You are responsible for the quality of the ride and for where you end up.
